Summary:
NRG Energy is seeking a Communications Manager to support the Corporate Communications function with a primary focus on external communications and media relations.
The successful candidate will advise stakeholders on media strategy, public engagement and executive level communications, develop communications plans, create written communications including press releases, key messages/talking points and social media posts.
Essential Duties/
Responsibilities:
Integrate closely with internal clients to understand communication needs of the businessAnticipate/recognize communications opportunities and advise appropriate tacticsDevelop communication plans, media messages, social media posts, press releases and supporting materialsIdentify, analyze, and recommend speaking opportunities for company executivesDevelop proactive storylines and pitch to news media Working Conditions:
100% remote in the immediate timeframe amidst COVID-19.
To be an office-based role once NRG's office-based employees return to their normal office locations Open office environmentOvertime as business needs dictateMinimal travel expected, and not likely to exceed more than 10% Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Communication or related field from an accredited college or university5
years of media relations experience, including managing adverse issues, crisis response, and/or financial communications3
years of managing strategic relationships with proven ability in developing media strategy, key messages and general writing and editing Preferred QualificationsAdvanced degree in Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations or a related fieldAgency experience is a plusStrong business and financial reporting acumen, particularly ESG and sustainability Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Detail-oriented in all work, ability to multi-task, and solid project management skillsSuperb verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentStrategic thinking and ability to execute NRG Energy is committed to a drug and alcohol free workplace.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
