Candidate will assume responsibility for analysis and modeling of power assets and complex transactions in the East markets (MISO, PJM, NYISO, ISONE). Position also provides significant support to all business units, including M&A, retail, solar, wind, and other new business initiatives.
Apply financial techniques to model commercial risks and opportunities associated with energy assets and complex transactions, such as: power generation, tolling, load following/full requirements, power purchase agreements, fuel storage and transportation by utilizing a variety of internal and external valuation models
Support large scale and complex valuation projects from the perspective of the Structure team
Perform sensitivity and scenario analyses on current and potential transactions
Communicate all transaction value and risk metrics across the organization, such that timely and optimal decisions can be made
Act as commercial liaison in corporate and regional M&A opportunities
Forecast market capacity clearing prices for East markets
Participate in contract negotiations and work with diverse deal teams whose members include originators, traders, quantitative analysts, risk control analysts, operations personnel, and management
Recognize, suggest, and implement best practice business processes for structured transaction valuation
Prepare management presentations and documentation
Provide backup and support on all levels to Commercial Operations management
Bachelor's degree; Master's degree in financial/quantitative discipline preferred
Four or more years of experience in energy industry with a focus on structured transactions, and electric asset valuation analysis. Experience in a consulting/project-oriented environment is a plus
Advanced knowledge of MISO, PJM, NYISO, ISONE market structures, and electric/fuel pricing fundamentals
Strong written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills
Able to successfully lead comprehensive projects and valuations involving various functional groups and senior management levels
Able to prioritize projects and deliver quality results within time constraints
Diligent attention to detail; willingness to have analytical work scrutinized
Proficient computer skills, including Excel and Access; programming skills are a plus
Able to thrive in a results-oriented, fast-paced, real-time team environment
Must be comfortable at providing a 360 degree view of project opportunities and risks to senior level management

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
