## Position Summary
The primary functions of this position are to provide financial and data analysis support to all aspects of the gift recording and reporting process and to ensure compliance with University and Development gift policies and procedures, IRS, SEC and Council for Aid to Education (CAE) reporting requirements. This position is responsible for managing the process and relationships associated with the valuation of securities, unallocated gifts, gift reconciliation, and in the collection of outstanding pledges. The Financial Analyst for Alumni and Donor Records acts as the key interface between Development and the Office of Finance & Treasury for these functions. This position reports to the Director of Alumni and Donor Records.
Responsibilities include:
Manages gifts of stocks and securities for all gifts (with the exception of planned gifts), and interacts with donors and/or their designees, banks and brokers to ensure prompt and timely delivery of securities to Princeton. Partners with the Office of Finance & Treasury, Office of the General Counsel and the giving offices for prompt valuation.
Oversees the management and coordinates collection process of outstanding Annual Giving and Capital pledges including semi-annual and annual reviews. Works directly with prospect managers, AVP of Development for Annual Giving and the AVP of Development in monitoring pledge schedules, reminder schedules and makes recommendations for write-off considerations. Provides pledge overviews for high profile donors as requested.
Manages production and quality control of the annual pledge collection report for the University internal and external auditors. Primary contact for auditors.
Oversees the management of the Development Office unallocated funds including semi-annual and annual reviews. Applies policies, procedures and accounting principles for acceptance and crediting. Works directly with prospect managers, AVP of Development, and Office of Finance & Treasury in monitoring, reporting, and designating allocation of the funds.
Oversees the management of the Development Office memorial funds including semi-annual and annual reviews. Works directly with prospect managers, AVP of Development, Recording Secretary and Office of Finance & Treasury in monitoring, reporting and designating allocation of the funds.
Maintains data integrity and oversees the Gift Reconciliation between the Development fundraising database and the Office of Finance & Treasury.
Manages production, review and quality control of the quarterly reports to the Office of the Provost, Office of Finance & Treasury, and Office of the General Counsel
## Essential Qualifications
Position requires:
Bachelor's degree with 5-7 years related work experience.
Experience using CRM and/or transactional database to interpret, perform inquiries, verify and report giving activity. -Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn IRS guidelines and CAE reporting requirements.
Strong research, data interpretation, analytical, project management, and organizational skills.
Proven track record of delivering a very high level of customer service in a team environment.
Strong relationship management skills with proven ability to interact with diverse individuals and groups at all organizational levels, both inside and outside the University community.
Accuracy, close attention to detail, change-friendly attitude, and strong work ethic.
Commitment to maintain discretion and strict compliance to confidentiality policies and procedures.
Excellent verbal, written and analytical communication skills, using tact and diplomacy when interacting with all University constituencies.
Demonstrated experience as a proficient user of the Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Excel, Access, PowerPoint) to extract and present data for analysis and correspond effectively with colleagues and constituents.
The final candidate will be required to complete a background check successfully.
## Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of and commitment to philanthropy, fundraising practices, the values and mission of Princeton and higher education, and the goals and guiding principles of the Office of Development and Development Information Strategy.
Prior experience in a fundraising environment preferable.
