Our client, a leader in the Intermodal industry is looking to hire a Temp - Accounts Receivable Assistant to be located in their Princeton, NJ location.
Position Summary: Responsible for the timely recording of check, wire and Automated Clearing House (ACH) customer remittances. This involves working with others in determining the proper allocation and handling of checks, wire and ACH payments and adjustments as well as running various reports and filing.
Essential Responsibilities:
Input and allocate all checks and wire transfer payments on a daily basis.
Research prior customer payments, payment allocations and other queries as requested by the Billing and Collection Department.
Make all necessary adjustments to customer receivable accounts, as instructed.
Research unapplied and unidentified customer payments.
Ensure all documentation is properly organized, maintained and filed.
In addition, any other duties as assigned by the Accounts Receivable Manager.
High School diploma or GED with some accounting knowledge.
Willingness to learn.
Excellent attention to detail.
Strong organization, communication and time management skills.
Must be able to prioritize, multi task and meet stringent deadlines.
Ability to quickly adapt to change.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
Special Position Requirements:
This position requires long periods of sitting behind a desk and ability to lift boxes (10-15 pounds).

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
