Position SummaryThe Medical Analytics Lead (Cardiology, Immunology & Fibrosis) sits at the heart of the data revolution occurring across pharma and within BMS.
He/she is a member of BMS s growing Medical Analytics team, which is part of the company s broader Business Insights & Analytics (BI&A) function.
Through rigorous analysis of rich field medical data, he/she ultimately helps leaders in Medical Affairs and Field Medical make more informed business decisions and help quantify Medical s impact.
Medical Analytics, a team within BMS Business Insights & Analytics, works with the Medical Affairs organization and leverages advanced analytics to inform and drive medical strategy, clinical pipeline development, and Medical Evidence Generation (MEG) performance improvements.
The Director, Medical Analytics for Cardiovascular, Immunology, and Neurology (CV/I&N) leads analytic strategy and delivery in several key therapeutic areas informing business and medical decisions through rigorous analysis of internal and external data.
This analytics leader collaborates with Medical Affairs Leadership to optimize medical resources and facilitate strategic decision making.
S/he work closely with counterparts in Commercialization Analytics and Development Analytics to help optimize medical deployment and engagement, connect field medical strategy and tactics with those of home office and development operations, drive accelerated delivery of clinical trial portfolio, and deliver actionable intelligence for continuous performance improvement.
The day-to-day responsibilities for this role include:
proactively understanding stakeholders key objectives, needs, and challenges; identifying opportunities to advanced analytics to drive medical strategy and impact; extracting valuable and actionable insights from datasets; identifying emerging trends; synthesizing compelling data stories that facilitate stakeholder decision-making; and effective analytic approaches to measure and demonstrate the business impact delivered by Medical Affairs.
Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the BIA partner for CV / I&N leadership in Medical Affairs including US and WorldwideParticipate as an active member of the Medical matrix team, including US and Worldwide Medical Strategy and Medical Excellence Leads, to understand and prioritize their business objectives and drive data analytics roadmap and deliveryLead analytic delivery for medical strategy and engagement in CV / I&N ensuring effective use of advanced analytic solutions, data and insight-driven performance management, and continuous improvement of medical impact for launch excellence and accelerated delivery of clinical trial portfolioDevise effective outcomes-driven analyses to optimize Medical strategy and resourcing to help drive enterprise performanceAnalyze Medical Excellence data to inform the development of training programs and business solutions to further drive Medical performanceAnalyze and communicate highly impactful insights and trends from field and home office medical and perform root-cause analysis with key stakeholders.

Establish effective cross-functional work practicesQualifications & ExperienceExperience at least 7 years in business analytics, medical, clinical, forecasting, and data science; specialized experience in pharma drug development, clinical operations, medical affairs or operations, real world data a plusEducation - Bachelor s degree in Medical Science, Pharma, Statistics, Engineering, Finance or other science or quantitative field.
Master s/MBA degree is preferredFunctional Expertise strong knowledge and application of business analytics, predictive modeling, and data science/AI in Clinical and/or Medical.
Understanding the value that Clinical/Medical analytics deliver.
Ability to draw inferences from disparate or incomplete data, identify and frame key analytic applications, and link to business implications.
Demonstrated ability to independently evaluate and draw insights on quality metrics and interconnections with operational metrics.
