Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Chief of Staff to organize and oversee the daily operations of our Finance team. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will be the one to ensure that our department is well-coordinated and productive. This role will require thorough knowledge of various departmental and company processes and is responsible for the overall effectiveness of the CFO, and serves as point person for the CFO on a day-to-day basis. The ideal candidate must be capable and able to plan many different kinds of operational activities. They must be an excellent leader who can discover the most efficient ways to safeguard and augment the efficiency of the Finance department's operations to facilitate accelerating development and long-term success. Location:
New York City and Princeton (once or twice a month) Responsibilities Evaluate regularly the efficiency of business procedures according to organizational objectives and apply improvement Revise and/or formulate policies and promote their implementation Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics Responsible for precise execution of operational efforts Demonstrates solid understanding of Dow Jones' core business and strategic plan; regularly promotes the CFO's vision to the broader team to ensure alignment and productivity Prepares and briefs the CFO on thoughtful, digestible and concise talking points for meetings and events, including employee town halls and executive leadership meetings; demonstrates strong ability to synthesize the most important points from high-level vision and information Instills a sense of teamwork and loyalty within the broader team to inspire and motivate others around growth initiatives; acts as eyes and ears to ensure such initiatives are implemented effectively Initiates and spearheads special projects and initiatives Assists in facilitating decision-making with the CFO and Senior leadership team; acts as confidant, sounding board, and advisor to offer sound perspective and guidance Help to create/facilitate communication channels, strategies, and tactics that support our goals Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders within the organization to generate proper levels of awareness and adoption of the team's objectives and goals Maintain a consistent communication and socialization plan to ensure all teams have the most up to date information Basic Qualifications & Experience Business operations, process design, and project management experience Ability to operate independently with excellent time management skills and confirmed ability to deliver on multiple, competing priorities in a dynamic environment Ability to effectively interact with people and partners across all levels within an organization Proven ability to follow through on complex projects from idea to implementation
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Corporate FinanceEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
